UP is still the number one university in the Philippines, placing 70th in the 2016 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asian University Rankings. With an overall score of 58.4 out of 100, it received the highest points in employer reputation (87.9), academic reputation (74.8) and faculty-student ratio (69.2). Other indicators used by QS were citations per paper, papers per faculty, staff with PhD, proportions of international faculty and international students, and proportions of inbound and outbound exchange students.
