OVPAA symposium to showcase creative work and research accomplishments

Researchers from different UP constituent units will present their creative work and research outputs in a symposium to be convened by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) on March 1 and 2. To be held at the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) Auditorium in UP Diliman, it will feature 40 oral presentations from the basic sciences, mathematics, social sciences, arts, literature and economics. 2015 OVPAA Research Symposium to feature over 50 projects

Almost a year ago, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) organized a symposium to disseminate the results of 18 OVPAA-supported projects. The tradition continues this year with the 2015 OVPAA Research Symposium scheduled for November 12 and 13 at the Intel Center for Science Auditorium of the National Institute of Physics, UP Diliman. Anthropological and geographical societies to hold “Dagat ug Kinabuhi/Maritime Cultures, Spaces and Networks”

The Ugyanang Pang-Aghamtao, Inc (UGAT) and the Philippine Geographical Society will be holding their joint regional conference on the theme “Dagat ug Kinabuhi/Maritime Cultures, Spaces and Networks” at the Silliman University, Dumaguete City from 22 to 24 October 2015.    The conference hopes to create an interdisciplinary regional forum (encompassing the area between the Indian and the Pacific Oceans) to discuss issues and debates revolving around maritime contexts as (structured and structuring) fluid zones of spatial connection and separation, and within which contemporary insecurities and vulnerabilities communities must find ways to keep afloat (Dagat ug Kinabuhi means ‘the sea and life [lifeways/strategies]’ […]
