The 2015 Third World Studies Center Writeshop

The Third World Studies Center (TWSC) launches the 2015 TWSC Writeshop in continuing its commitment to build the capacity of early career researchers, junior faculty members, and graduate students in the social sciences. The 2015 TWSC Writeshop will feature academic lectures; small group discussions with journal editors; and a plenary presentation as culminating activity. NYU professor and dean to speak on genomics and the evolution of plant biodiversity

Dr. Michael Purugganan, Dean of Science and Professor of Biology at New York University will render a talk entitled “Genomics and the Evolution of Plant Biodiversity” on January 30, 2015, 2pm at the Auditorium, 2F of the newly-constructed building of the Institute of Biology located at the National Science Complex in UP Diliman. Scholarship and service: Short-term Foreign Training and Externship in Industry

Training and externship are often associated with academic and professional development. But for UP, it is also about service. Our programs for short-term training in foreign universities and externship in industry are envisioned to spur and nurture a culture of scholarship driven by individual commitment and determination. This is achieved through continuous voluntary mentoring: those who obtain financial support from UP for short-term training abroad and externship are encouraged to fill in for the next batch of colleagues who will also leave for foreign training or externship. Public Policy Journal relaunched after almost a decade

A new issue of Public Policy Journal (PPJ) was released again by the Center for Integrative and Development (CIDS) after eight long years.
