Two Qubit Entanglement Preservation Through the Addition of Qubits. Annals of Physics, 354: 21–30, March 2015.

Catchy title of research: A way to preserve quantum entanglement.

Quantum entanglement is used known resource in performing quantum mechanical protocols such as quantum computing, quantum teleportation and quantum cryptography. However, it is also known that this resource is very fragile when exposed to the environment and disappears when left to evolve on its own. Researchers have suggested ways to preserve entanglement and one of this involves the phenomenon known as quantum zeno paradox whereby we periodically observe the initial state of the system containing the entanglement by repeatedly observing it, although achieving this is a hassle from an experimental standpoint. This is where our research comes in. We introduced an easier way to preserve entanglement by merely adding more qubits and leaving the whole system to evolve on their own. We show that the more qubits you add, the better is the preservation of the initial entanglement.

Strategic Logistics Planning for Flood Disaster Prevention of Economic Zones in the Greater Manila Area, Philippines. Asia Life Science, 24 (2): 823-840, 2015.

The Greater Manila Area is an important economic center and the hub of industrial activities in the Philippines, as manifested by an assortment of economic zones situated in the area. However, existing flood management facilities are inadequate to protect the population and economic assets that are recurrently affected by flooding. Although the government recognizes that disaster logistics planning is crucial, it is often a neglected part of the government’s management actions, and thus, many logistics firms are still at a low level of disaster preparedness. Therefore, the paper aims to: (1) identify flood susceptible areas in the Greater Manila Area; (2) determine major logistics clusters and logistics networks in the Greater Manila Area; (3) analyze ability of economic zones to handle logistics operations under flood disaster conditions, and (4) recommend policy measures on logistics planning for flood disaster prevention.

Hedging Against Foreign Exchange Risk of Peso-Dollar Rates Using Futures. Applied Mathematical Sciences, 8 (109-112): 5469-5476, 2014.

Futures is one of hedging strategy to minimize the risk faced by sudden fluctuations in trading currency. This paper allows one way to compute for the optimal allocation to be invested in buying futures and in the risk-free asset via the optima hedge ratio. This is very important especially to institutions like banks, insurance companies, and others who are always investing a share of their surplus to increase their cash flow.
