General Principles
The Natatangi is an exemplary UP institution that demonstrates karangalan at kahusayan sa paglilingkod
para sa bayan.

The principles of karangalan at kahusayan sa paglilingkod para sa bayan are exemplified through, but not
limited to the following:
● Public service initiatives and/or programs of the unit
● Extension program initiatives and/or projects of the unit
● Publications and/or creative works of the individual members that are aligned with the unit agenda
● Academic, research/ creative work, and innovation programs of the unit, including but not limited to
curricular reviews, curricular proposals, research/ arts programs, writing of a monograph, and
utilization of new knowledge/ creations for public good
● Local, national, and international recognition of the unit (awards, distinctions)
● Local, national, and international recognition of the individual members of the unit
● Citations of excellence from various stakeholders
● Quality Assurance (QA) Certifications

Nature of Award
The award shall be given to any academic institution in UP Constituent Universities and autonomous college (degree-granting or non-degree-granting) that embodies the University’s principles of karangalan at kahusayan sa paglilingkod para sa bayan. Three (3) awardees of the Gawad Pangulo sa Natatanging Akademikong Institusyon will receive PhP 150,000.00 each.
