UP pays tribute to outstanding achievers in systemwide recognition ceremony

A total of 122 faculty members, research, extension and professional staff (REPS), administrative staff, and students were honored by the University of the Philippines in a recognition ceremony held on 19 June 2025 at the Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman.
Titled Pagkilala sa mga Natatanging Fakulti, REPS, Kawani at Estudyante na Nagkamit ng Lokal o Internasyonal na Karangalan, the event gathered members of the UP community who were recognized for their excellence by prestigious institutions in the Philippines and around the world.
The honorees, representing various constituent universities across the UP System, were selected for their outstanding accomplishments in 2024. Each honoree received a medal and a certificate presented by UP President Angelo A. Jimenez and Executive Vice President Leo DP Cubillan who also serves as the OIC of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
In his opening remarks, Executive Vice President Cubillan stressed how excellence is a culture and way of life, collectively formed by and evident in our daily work, our integrity and our steadfast commitment to truth, justice and service. He emphasized the importance of each one’s role in strengthening the University’s impact on society and expressed hope that the recognition further unites UP as a community dedicated to public service.
President Jimenez delivered the inspirational message while Vice President for Public Affairs Marian L. Coquia‑Regidor gave the closing remarks.


The recognition highlights the importance of the achievements of UP’s faculty, researchers, staff, and students who are key to the University’s reputation. It also affirms UP’s commitment to excellence in academics, research, and professional work. This culture of recognition nurtures shared pride and motivates others in the community to pursue excellence as well.
Pagkilala was one of the highlight events of Linggo ng Unibersidad 2025. It was co-organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
