Join us! The AUN-GJI application for membership is now open

The ASEAN University Network-Gender Justice and Inclusion (AUN-GJI) is the first AUN thematic network led by the University of the Philippines which was proposed in response to gender disparities across many Asian countries, including issues like gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and economic inequality. The network aims to foster collaboration among advocates in these fields to promote more inclusive, just, and equitable universities and educational institutions. This initiative offers the committee an opportunity to develop and implement more comprehensive education policies while also fostering a more inclusive campus culture. By partnering with other universities, the network can integrate its insights into operational practices, ensuring that education remains central to university policies.
The AUN-GJI thematic network aims to create and sustain diverse, inclusive, and equitable academic environments. This network seeks to challenge and eliminate gender discrimination to ensure gender equality, equity, and inclusion in academic institutions and empower diverse individuals to thrive in academia. It also aspires to promote understanding, awareness, research, and action on gender-related issues, driving positive change within academic institutions and society.
Institutional Membership is open to all member universities and academic institutions in the ASEAN University Network that are committed to advancing gender equality and inclusivity in their campuses and communities. Representatives from various disciplines, genders, and backgrounds are encouraged to join as Associate Members to ensure diverse perspectives. Each member university is expected to actively engage in network activities, contribute expertise, and participate in collaborative efforts to promote gender justice and inclusivity.
